Beach photo tips for your Coron vacation

Coron is just the picture-perfect scenery since everywhere you go is a photo opportunity! Whether you're using a camera or your phone, we know you can't resist capturing the moment. Here are some tips to help you snap the best beach selfies and scenic shots that will make you remember exactly how it felt to be there.

1. Explore your phone camera settings!

There’s more to your phone camera than meets the eye. Try to check the features you usually don't notice. One of Gen Z’s favorite ones? The ultra-wide 0.5x lens. It allows you to capture a wider photo. This is perfect for capturing the beautiful limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters and even the perfect group selfie.

How to do the 0.5 Gen Z shot:

1. Open your camera app

2. Switch to the back camera

3. Tap “0.5x” at the bottom of the screen.

4. Hold your phone at arm’s length and smile!

Pro tip: To make it easier to take the photo, you can simply use the volume buttons on the side of your phone instead of tapping the shutter on the screen.

2. No filter needed! Golden hour is your best friend

There’s no need for filters when nature already does the work for you in Coron. You don’t want to miss capturing the magic of golden hour when the colors here just hit differently. Aim to shoot between 6:00 to 7:00 AM or 4:30 to 5:30 PM to catch those golden, glowy hues that make everything feel like a dream.

For couples, it’s also the perfect time for a romantic shot if you’re with your partner whether it’s silhouettes against the sunset or holding hands by the shore.

3. Capture the candid moments

Forget about the poses and timers for a bit. Focus on capturing those spontaneous, real moments with your friends, family, or partner. Use burst mode on your camera and let the lens catch those unforgettable in-between moments.

How to use the burst mode:

1. Open your camera app

2. Simply long press the shutter button while taking a photo.

3. Afterwards, open your photos app to review and pick your favorite shot from the burst.

4. Take photos with Coron's rich marine life

Got a waterproof phone case? Perfect, you can try out some underwater shots too. Coron is known for its crystal-clear waters so for sure, you don’t want to miss out on capturing the beauty below. Make sure your phone is waterproof or secured inside a reliable waterproof case.

How to take underwater photos:

1. Make to secure your phone in a waterproof case

2. Gently submerge it just below the surface

3. Find the right angle and let the natural light enhance your shot.

Friendly tip: Be cautious and stick to shallow water while doing this. Avoid going too deep as water pressure can damage your phone.

5. Play with angles and perspectives

You don't have to be a professional to take photos and get creative with them! Don’t be afraid to move around, explore new perspectives, and just have fun with it. Here are some go-to examples

Rule of thirds

Use the rule of thirds by placing your subject off-center. You can turn on the grid in your camera settings to help with this.

Low and High angles

Try a low-angle shot by crouching or a high-angle shot to capture your beach set-up with your friends or your names in the sand.

Ultrawide/Panoramic

If you want a fuller view of Coron, the ultrawide 0.5x lenses are not just for selfies! You can also use it to fit the cliffs, water, and sky in one frame. With just a few clicks, you can turn the beauty of Coron into your own personal postcard. But while you're capturing those moments, don’t forget to put the phone down every now and then to just pause and enjoy the vibes.
